Autopsy samples from 470 infants who died suddenly without any known reason between 1996 and 2005, were examined by the researchers and the noted dangerous bacteria in almost 181 babies that is almost half of the 365 whose reason of death is not known and similar bacteria were also found in 14 out 53 babies whose causes of death were known besides those who died due to bacterial infections.
A large number of these bacteria were found in the lungs and spleens of the babies.
