Liver cirrhosis is thought out to be one of those illnesses that are the seventh leading cause of death in United States. It is reported to take over 25000 lives every year. It often results due to the over consumption of alcohol or exposure to Hepatitis C and either of these conditions can damage the liver and it prohibits it from filtering the toxic substances. These toxins are accumulated in the blood and they eventually reach the brain where they happen to damage the neurological performance in the body and such a condition is called hepatic encephalopathy.

People with cirrhosis are also vulnerable to the frequent change in the heart pattern and researchers prove that all these three diseases are associated to inflammation. These conditions lead to the cytokines and such cytokines can create cognitive as well as the neurological abnormalities in the heart rhythm in all the patients with the cirrhosis.

The findings of such a study show that they could also be applied to the other conditions where the rate of the heart variability is also decreased such as the menopausal depression as well as the bi-polar disorder. The research involved about 80 patients that are suffering from the cirrhosis of the liver and most of these patients had the cirrhosis due to excessive consumption of alcohol and none of these patients were allowed the alcohol consumption for three months.
