A new research associates the long term use of Marijuana with the risk of developing testicular cancer. The researchers found that the risk became greater in the men who were reported to use marijuana before reaching 18 years or smoke it more than once a week And this ratio has become doubled in those who have been using it for at least ten years.
This disease mostly attacks men from 20 to 30 years and is more likely to develop in the men with an undescended testicle or having a family history to develop testicular cancer.
According to The American Cancer Society, testicular cancer is easy to treat and has five-year survival rate in 96 percent cases.
It’s important to note that marijuana not only increases the risk of developing testicular cancer but also it appears in the aggressive form of disease that is nonseminoma testicular cancer. 40 percent cases have been diagnosed with this type of testicular cancer which has chronic nature hence more difficult to cure.
Although it is still undiscovered, what are the factors, which link the use of marijuana with testicular cancer; it’s the first step in this direction to find the association between testicular cancer and marijuana which can also affect the sperm quality and male reproductive system.
