You might have heard that, people tends to eat more if they are watching TV in between the meals. But does it cause more snacking later on also?
Yes, it is quite possible that you will eat more after you take your meal. During a survey, it has been found that those people who were watching television while eating did extra snacking after they finish their meals.
What causes them to eat more? While they watch TV, they don’t remember what they had in their meal. If they are asked about what they have taken in their meal, they were not able to recall completely.
As a result they snack on more cookies later on. This is also becoming the major causes for the obesity mainly in the young generation. Many kids snack on more chips and coke while watching cartoon network or any other TV shows.
It is very important that you focus on what you eat because it will help you to make a healthy meal or snack choices later on. Here are few tips to practice careful eating:
Say Good-bye to every extra bite
Drive your heart. Doing aerobic workouts regularly will dull your appetite. You can also do these simple exercises at home in between your work.
Try eating tiny meals.
Multiple tiny meals are better as it can reduce the hunger through out your whole day. Remember, quality of meals is very much important.
Choose the right food.
Some fats are good for health. See the food labels for choosing the right fat contents. Avoid food that has trans fat in it. There are some fats that turn on your hunger.
Out of reach
As far as possible keep chips, drinks and other fatty fast food stuffs to a place where you can not reach easily. It is like out of sight, out of mind.
