The enamel is like armor for your teeth. We have to take good care of it so that it should not get damaged or worn out. If the armor gets damaged, it can not be repair again. And the acidic beverages such as soda, sports drinks, and citrus juice are very bad for your white teeth. These acidic beverages composed of enamel-stripping acids such as phosphoric, citric, and tartaric acids, and so on. However, the green and black teas do not create problem to enamel much.
These are few tips to protect your teeth from getting damaged by food and drink:
Always use straw while sipping any acidic beverages. It will minimize contact of your drink to your teeth. You must also rinse your mouth with water after drinking.
Brewed tea is good. But preferably you should drink it straight. If you add sugar and lemon to it, your teeth will feel good.
Apples, celery, and carrot are natural stain removers. So snack on these fruits and veggies which are really good for your teeth.
Brushing and flossing teeth regularly make you look younger as well.
You should avoid popcorn kernels and ice cubes. It can cause severe damage to your teeth.
Avoid any carbonated drink as far as possible.
Ask your kids to consume drink quickly, instead of sipping it over for longer period of time.
Do not eat sweet directly after meals because when the extra saliva which is caused by chewing will help to protect your teeth
